BK House

Renovation of an adobe brick house built on a stone foundation dating from 1940-1945, using traditional methods to preserve its original authenticity.

The building, which lacked electrical wiring, bathroom, and toilet facilities, was strengthened, and renovated using brick and wood construction methods; electrical and mechanical infrastructure installations were also implemented. Also, a new planning solution was made, and the desired spaces were designed for the kitchen, bathroom, and toilet needs in the building.
When evaluating traditional structures in terms of construction systems, it’s seen that brick material is utilized for various functions such as load-bearing elements, wall infill, roof covering, and more.
Encountering brick material even in very ancient historical remains is a result of the simplicity of brick production, which can be carried out even under primitive conditions.

Brick that is made from entirely natural materials does not contain any harmful additives to the environment. Even if it complains about its service life, it can be reused completely. In addition to having both heat insulation and acoustic properties, it is also used as a moisture regulator. Because of the facilities bricks have such as providing environmentally friendly, comfortable, and cost-effective structures, bricks stand out as an alternative material in every period, especially in rural areas.
